The community is invited to a public meeting regarding the replacement of two Washington County bridges included in the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. The meeting, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. April 12, will focus on important information including the construction schedule and traffic changes that are planned to take effect while the bridges are being replaced.

The bridges to be replaced are the Route 231 bridge, spanning Brush Run in Blaine and Independence townships and the Oak Ridge Road bridge, spanning Brush Run in Blaine and Hopewell townships.

The meeting will be held at the Hopewell Township building, 20 Parkview Road, Avella.

During construction on the Route 231 bridge, an alternating traffic pattern will be controlled by temporary traffic signals. During construction of the Oak Ridge Road bridge, drivers will be directed to follow a detour along Route 331 (Brush Run Road) and Route 221 (Buffalo Creek Road).

Representatives from Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners and PennDOT will be available to discuss the bridge projects and answer questions. There will be no formal presentation. Construction plans will be on display for reference.
