WAYNESBURG – Waynesburg University has selected its speakers for its annual baccalaureate and commencement ceremonies April 30.

Adradhna Oliphant, CEO of Leadership Pittsburgh, will address the Class of 2017 on the front lawn of Miller Hall during the 1:40 p.m. ceremony.

Oliphant was born in India and now holds a master’s degree in business administration from Rutgers University and a master’s in psychology from Bhopal University.

She serves on numerous boards and advisory boards throughout Allegheny County and Southwestern Pennsylvania. She’s worked on steering committees for Gov. Tom Wolf and serves as vice president of the International Women’s Forum of Pittsburgh.

In 2015, Pittsburgh Magazine recognized her as one of the top 25 most influential people in the region.

The speaker for the baccalaureate service, to be held at 11 a.m. in Roberts Chapel, will be the Rev. Daniel Migliore, a retired Presbyterian minister who taught systemic theology at Princeton Theological Seminary in New Jersey for 47 years.

He’s also taught temporarily at other theological seminaries across the nation and has authored several books. He has a bachelor’s degree from Westminster College, a bachelor of divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary and a master’s degree and doctorate from Princeton University.

Both Oliphant and Migliore will be honored during commencement with honorary degrees because their lives relate to the mission of Waynesburg University.

Between both ceremonies, about 525 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students will be honored, including students from the university’s centers in Cranberry, Monroeville and Southpointe.
