• Action: A four-lot subdivision along Flint Drive in Strabane Manor was approved by the board of supervisors.

Supervisors also approved an intergovernmental agreement with Canton, Nottingham and Peters townships for the joint purchase and shared use of a new road paver. Those municipalities have a previous agreement for the old paver. South Strabane will continue to be the titleholder and house the equipment.

Action on a resolution with Consol Mining was tabled. The owners of numerous lots in the township, Consol is seeking an exception to the municipal ordinance that mandates dye tests used to confirm the absence of illegal stormwater or surface water before the purchase of structures. The company would like to close on properties sold at auction March 28 without first obtaining a municipal certificate, which is issued when a dye test is passed. According to Aaron Smith, an attorney representing Consol, buyers purchased the properties as-is and will have to provide funds to fix the systems in an escrow account that the township will hold. Thomas Wright, chairman and administrator of the Washington County Sewage Authority, recommended that the board accept the proposal.
