MT. MORRIS – A Dilliner man is facing multiple charges after a bar fight in Mt. Morris early Saturday morning.

Greene County Regional Police said Gage Paul Griffin, 23, of 324 Moffit Road, was at O’Reilly’s Bar, 229 Mt. Morris Road, Friday night into Saturday morning, when an altercation broke out among he, his wife and her friend.

Police Chief Michael Natale said the argument began over a set of car keys and possession of a car. Griffin allegedly attacked his wife, Amber Griffin, throwing her to the ground, punching her in the face, choking her and trying to bite her neck. That caused Amber’s friend Shaina Comiskey to get involved, according to the criminal complaint. Gage Griffin then allegedly attacked Comiskey, punching her in the face multiple times and choking her.

Gage Griffin allegedly punched out the window and windshield of Comiskey’s car, the complaint said. Comiskey told police he was “too drunk to stand” and “extremely angry” during the fight, the complaint said.

Police said Amber Griffin, who was bleeding from her nose, told them she has an active protection-from-abuse order against her husband.

Gage Griffin was charged with aggravated assault, criminal mischief, public drunkenness and two counts each of simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment. He was being held in Greene County jail on $20,000 bond, and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. April 20 before District Judge Lee Watson.

Natale said “upon further investigation, it was discovered that the two females had a role in instigating the fight, and charges may be pending against them.”
