Alleged victim of Rostraver Twp. machete attack charged in case
BELLE VERNON – A Rostraver Township man who police say was sliced in the arm with a machete during a fight Sunday with his neighbor is now facing charges in the case.
Police on Tuesday filed charges of simple assault and disorderly conduct against Carey Michael Delmer, 66, of 231 Skyline Drive, stemming from the fight he allegedly had with his neighbor, Victor Gregorini, over the dumping of grass clippings near Gregorini’s property line, court records show.
Gregorini, 66, of 225 Skyline Drive, is free on $10,000 bond, charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and reckless endangerment.
Gregorini told an officer he raised the machete into the air as Delmer pushed him backward. Delmer told police he raised his left arm to protect his face when Gregorini was about to strike him in the head with the machete.
District Judge Charles Christner issued Delmer’s charges in a summons.
