NEW LEBANON, Pa. (AP) — Two people are hospitalized with major injuries after an SUV crashed into their horse-drawn buggy in western Pennsylvania.

Melvin and Lydia Yoder were about 4 miles from their home when a woman rear-ended their buggy just before 10 p.m. Wednesday. The impact threw both of them from the buggy. Police say the Yoders were flown to the hospital.

Police arrested the SUV driver, 34-year-old Brooke Weber of Cochranton, on suspicion of drunken driving. Charges are pending. An 8-year-old child in the SUV escaped injury.

The crash happened in New Lebanon, about 75 miles north of Pittsburgh.
