Snyder legislation on minor mental health services passes House
State Rep. Pam Snyder, D-Jefferson, said the state House of Representatives Tuesday unanimously passed her legislation that would eliminate confusion over when a minor’s consent is needed for mental health examinations and other health services.
“House Bill 381 would enable the state Department of Human Services to update and clarify consent guidelines,” Snyder said. “With the Senate’s concurrence, we can eliminate the confusion and bureaucratic barriers impeding needed treatments.”
Snyder said a family’s difficulties securing mental health treatment for their child prompted her legislative efforts.
The bill now heads to the state Senate for consideration
