Strangulation arrest: Richard J. Heinold Jr., 27, of Aliquippa, was arrested Wednesday on a warrant obtained by state police charging him with strangulation, aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment. He is accused of grabbing his former girlfriend and squeezing her neck during an incident at her Bentleyville home Monday. When he released his grip, she was able to run out of the house. He was arraigned by District Judge Curtis Thompson and released from Washington County Jail Thursday after posting $7,500 bond.

Assault arrest: Lawrence A. Papini, 21, of 217 Fourth St., California, was arrested Wednesday by California police on charges of simple assault and harassment after he allegedly pushed and punched his father during a confrontation at their home. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and placed in Washington County Jail on $10,000 bond.

Charged in theft: Travis W. Hickly, 27, of 3133 School Place, Finleyville, was charged this week by Canonsburg police with theft from a vehicle and possession of a controlled substance after he allegedly stole items from vehicles in the Greenside Avenue area on March 18. He was spotted and chased by a witness. Police learned he was wanted on a Beaver County bench warrant. Police said he had Clonazepam with him when he was caught. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

DUI, underage drinking: Matthew David Kitta, 19, of 23 Ward St., Washington, was charged this week by state police with driving under the influence of alcohol, underage drinking, careless driving, failure to stay in lane and minor prohibited from driving with alcohol in system stemming from a March 5 traffic stop off Jefferson Avenue in Canton. Police said his blood alcohol level was 2 1/2 times the 0.02 level presumed for intoxication for anyone under the age of 21. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

Windows broken: Cecil police said that several residents of Pristine Fields reported back windows of their vehicle broken by vandals late Tuesday or early Wednesday

Fishing equipment stolen: A resident of Lawrence told Cecil police Monday that his vehicle was entered and fishing equipment including poles were stolen. The stolen items were valued at $450, police said.

Warrant signed: James Ryan Brown, 32, of Monongahela, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with theft and unauthorized use over allegations he took a car owned by Sherry Walker April 1 to get it inspected for her and failed to return the vehicle, court records show. District Judge Larry Hopkins signed a warrant Monday for Brown’s arrest.

Assault charges: Louis John Spadaro, 40, of 640 Allison Hollow Road, Chartiers, was charged Tuesday by Chartiers police with aggravated assault, simple assault and reckless endangerment for allegedly biting a firefighter and a paramedic who were called to his home March 1 to treat him for a medical condition. He is also accused of scratching a second medic. The firefighter and one paramedic had to be treated for their injuries, police said. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

Trail damaged: Paint was sprayed on the pavement of the Panhandle Trail, McDonald. The damage was reported to McDonald police Monday.

Charges filed: Daniel Clayton Whitely, 25, of 1200 Shady Ave., Charleroi, is charged by city police with endangering the welfare of children, tampering with evidence, obstruction and reckless endangerment, court records show. Police accuse Whitely of hiding three small bags of marijuana near a small child in his vehicle that was parked about 4:10 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of Reed Ave. He is free on unsecured bond set Wednesday by District Judge Joseph Dalfonso.

DUI crash: David V. Spino, 57, of 1060 Murphy Drive, Washington, will be charged by North Franklin police with driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving, failure to stay in his lane and carrying a firearm without a license stemming from an April 14 crash in the 800 block of Redstone Road. Police said he crashed into a vehicle driven by Jane Ellen Cape, 30, of Marianna, and also struck a fire hydrant. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Two charged: Diamond Desirae Braun-Spncer, 18, of 1520 Jefferson Ave., Washington, and Sarah E. Moore, 27, of 218 Birch St., Claysville, were each charged by North Franklin police with retail theft for allegedly stealing clothing from Gander Mountain, Washington Crown Center, on Tuesday.

PFA violation: Michael P. Thornton, 41, of Bethel Park, will be charged by North Franklin police with violating a protection from abuse order for allegedly contacting a 35-year-old woman at her Cleveland Road home Wednesday.

False identification: Justin K. Loar, 37, of 743 Findlay St., Washington, was charged this week by North Strabane police with false identification to police after he reportedly gave police a different name when they attempted to pick him up on a bench warrant April 10 at a home on Christy Road. He was placed in Washington County Jail on a state parole violation. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

DUI, weapons charge: Nathan J. Moore, 21, of 50 W. Hallam Ave., Washington, was charged Monday by North Strabane police with having a prohibited offensive weapon, driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia after he was stopped Jan. 21 at Boone and Latimer avenues, Strabane, during a roving DUI patrol. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Woman charged: Amanda J. Massey, 34, of 1035 Broad Ave., Pricedale, is charged by township police with simple assault and harassment over allegations she grabbed and bruised the arm of her mother, Audrey Massey, about 8:40 p.m. Tuesday in Amanda Massey’s residence, court records show. Police filed the charges the next day before District Judge Joseph Dalfonso.

Charged in crash: Joshua A. Holliday, III, 43, of 169 Ginger Hill Road, Finleyville, was charged Tuesday by South Strabane police with driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of a crash. He is accused of hitting a mailbox on Davis School Road and fleeing the scene in his vehicle. Police found him still on Davis School. His blood alcohol level was more than 3 1/2 times the 0.08 limit presumed for intoxication. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Theft charge: Laura Lee Ladie, 34, of 695 Allison Ave., Washington, was charged this week by South Strabane police with retail theft after she allegedly stole items valued at $151 from Lowe’s, Strabane Square. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Drug, disorderly charges: Dylan Matthew Kirgan, 23, of 770 Stone Hill Road, Rogersville, was charged Tuesday by state police with possession of heroin, disorderly conduct and pedestrian not to be on the highway. Police spotted him walking March 15 along Interstate 70 near the south junction with Interstate 79, South Strabane. Police said he had 23 stamp bags of heroin. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Tools stolen: Keven Fletcher, 288 Locust Ave., told Washington police Wednesday that tools were stolen from the trunk of his car and prescription medication was stolen from the glove box.

Harassment charge: Santiago Alvarez Cortez, 36, of 760 Ewing St., Washington, will be charged by Washington police with harassment after he allegedly threatened a woman who gave him money for a car. He never delivered the car or returned her money, police said. He reportedly made the threats when she called him to get her money back.
