Where is Tim Murphy?

It appears that U.S. Rep. Tim Murphy feels he has Pennsylvania’s 18th Congressional District so locked up that a town hall meeting that so many other representatives host is simply out of the question for him. I guess our opinions are just not important to Murphy.

I recently wrote a letter to Murphy voicing my opposition to the “Trumpcare” bill that he supported in Congress and would deprive several million Americans of medical coverage. Murphy responded to my letter. He stated that “everyone will have access to affordable coverage.” Murphy also stated in his letter that Trumpcare “delivers affordable care when needed …at a price you can afford.”

Can Murphy’s constituents afford to have him disregard them?

His constituents are also concerned about Murphy voting against a measure that would have forced the Internal Revenue Service to release President Trump’s tax returns. Or his support of a bill overturning internet privacy rules. The list goes on.

It appears Murphy does not want to stand before his constituents or have some of us confront him on important issues in a public forum. Murphy is happy with his job and wants to keep it that way. Perhaps we are being taken for granted because we will continue to re-elect him no matter what he does in Congress.
