Student charged in cyberbullying case
CHARLEROI – A Charleroi Area High School student is accused of using a social media platform to bully a fellow student.
Charleroi Regional police charged Danielle McGuire, 18, of 1008 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, with cyber harassing a child after being told by school officials Friday that the teen had posted sexual insults about the unnamed juvenile student in videos posted under McGuire’s user name on Snapchat, court records show.
One of the videos was filmed Thursday in the school cafeteria, police said. That video zoomed in on the girl and accused her of having sex with multiple partners. Similar accusations were made about the other student in a video that was posted to the social media site after school, police stated in the affidavit.
District Judge Larry Hopkins issued the charge in a summons Tuesday.
