Meeting to address zoning regulations in Greene County
Jefferson Morgan Regional Council of Governments is holding a public meeting to update its zoning ordinance, which was originally enacted 2008 and subsequently amended.
The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at Jefferson Volunteer Fire Department, located at 1483 Jefferson Road, Jefferson.
All residents, business owners and other interested parties are invited to attend the meeting to review the proposed changes to the regional zoning ordinance, which affects Clarksville Borough, Jefferson Borough, Jefferson Township and Morgan Township.
JMRCOG is updating the ordinance to include various amendments that have been enacted since 2008, as well as to include regulations for never uses, such as miniature cell towers and medical marijuana facilities.
Amy Wiles, project consultant with Mackin Engineering Company, said JMRCOG is updating the ordinance to address uses that did not exist in 2008 and are requesting the public to provide comments.
The project began last July and is expected to be completed this summer. The meeting will consist of a presentation, followed by a question and answer session, allowing for the public to ask questions and provide input regarding any issues with the current ordinance and regulations and any other concerns.
