Woman charged
A Monessen woman, who had been at large for more than five days, was in Westmoreland County jail Saturday on multiple charges.
Lori Lee Pidich, 45, of Monessen, was arraigned Friday before District Justice Joseph A. Dalfonso of Monessen and jailed in lieu of $5,000 bond. She is charged with theft by unlawful taking, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, driving with a suspended or revoked license, recklessly endangering another person, reckless driving, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer and exceeding the speed limit.
She faces a preliminary hearing May 12 before Dalfonso.
In Washington County, Monongahela police also filed charges against Pidich. She is accused to stealing her mother’s car and robbing 7-Eleven convenience store on Dry Run Road, then attempting to hit the store’s clerk with the car when the employee tried to photograph the license plate. The clerk told Monongahela police Pidich said she had a gun and forced the clerk to open the register, took an undetermined amount of money and cigarettes before driving away on Route 136.
Police said the incident occurred around 10 p.m. April 22. State police found the car in Brownsville.
