Drug charges: John Walter Tabacsko, 30, of 67 Fort Mason Village, Masontown, was charged by Cumberland Township police with four counts of possession of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident in November at the Sheetz on Route 88 in Carmichaels. Police said they found Tabacsko asleep in his parked vehicle in the Sheetz parking lot in the afternoon of Nov. 21. Tabacsko reportedly told EMS workers he was just tired and fell asleep, but police questioned him and sought permission to search his vehicle. Police said they found Tabacsko to be in possession of methadone, prescription pill bottles with no prescriptions, and seven pills of Adderall and Clonazepam.

Assault charges: Brenda L. Kuntz, 46, of 333 Grant St., Nemacolin, was charged by Cumberland Township police with simple assault and harassment after she allegedly scratched and shoved her boyfriend’s son July 15 at a residence in the 500 block of East George Street in Carmichaels. Police said Kuntz had been drinking before she argued with her boyfriend’s son because she did not want him helping his father on the roof. She allegedly scratched him and shoved him in the back, causing injuries, according to the criminal complaint. Kuntz reportedly told police that she had just been “rubbing” his back.

Hit-and-run: State police said no injuries were reported in a hit-and-run crash on High Street in Franklin Township Monday afternoon. Police said a 31-year-old man from Townville was driving west in the center turning lane on High Street when a vehicle that was turning from Stewart Street onto High Street struck the back of his vehicle. The at-fault driver fled.
