East Bethlehem couple arrested by state police
An East Bethlehem Township couple were arrested by state police on charges including strangulation and simple assault Tuesday night after a dispute at their Clarksville home.
Randy Claude Russell, 56, and Carla Jean Bane, 55, both of 1 Stage St., were taken into custody after police were called to their home about 8:45 p.m.
Russell is charged with strangulation, terroristic threats, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct after he allegedly grabbed Bane by the neck and choked her. He also allegedly threatened to kill her family. Bane told police Russell is her live-in boyfriend.
Bane is charged with strangulation, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. She is accused of putting her hands against Russell’s neck and choking him against a wall during the confrontation.
Both were arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bonds. They are scheduled for Aug. 17 preliminary hearings before District Judge Joshua Kanalis.
