A Greene County-owned bridge on Ingram Hill Road in Morris Township was closed Friday for repairs.

Problems with the bridge, No. 75, which spans Browns Creek, had been revealed during an inspection conducted by the state Department of Transportation, the county said.

Widmer Engineering, the county’s engineer, is working with PennDOT to correct the issues so the bridge can be reopened as soon as possible.

During the closure, traffic will be detoured on Boulder Road or West Run Road to Hopewell Ridge, then back to Ingram Hill Road. Morris Township and emergency services officials have been notified of the closure.

Originally constructed in 1919 and rehabilitated in 1951, the 63-foot bridge currently has a 19-ton weight limit.
