Police Beat Aug. 5
Motorcycle crash: Jennifer Windsor, 39, of Bloomington, Ind., was injured July 29 when the motorcycle on which she was a passenger crashed on Amity Ridge Road near Baker Road, Amwell. State police said Joseph Stolar, 40, of Spraggs, was operating the motorcycle around a bend when the floorboard hit the road and the motorcycle crashed. Windsor was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment. Stolar was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.
Driver injured: Kimberly Morgan-Waugh, 48, of 1334 Lucia Drive, Canonsburg, was injured when her vehicle hit a parked truck about 7 p.m. Thursday in the 300 block of North Central Avenue. Canonsburg police said the occupant of the truck, Justin White, 37, of 231 N. DePaoli Road, McDonald, was checked at the scene. Morgan-Waugh was very disoriented and was taken for treatment to Canonsburg Hospital, where blood also was drawn, police said.
Lawn ornaments stolen: Kelley Gregorczyk of 310 Cecil St. told Canonsburg police Thursday a Mickey Mouse fountain and statue of an eagle were stolen from her yard by two men who put the items in a blue Dodge Ram pickup truck.
Cash stolen: State police said someone reportedly cut open a screen in the kitchen of a dwelling on Lincoln Street and stole a vase that contained about $900 between 2 a.m. Wednesday and 7:30 a.m. Thursday.
Theft reported: A man reported three speakers were stolen from his boat while it was docked at Green Cove Yacht Club Wednesday.
Mischief charge: Jerome A. Warren, 27, of 139 Church St., Washington, was charged this week by East Washington police with criminal mischief after he allegedly threw a cellphone at a vehicle driving through the intersection of East Beau Street and North Avenue July 14. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Burglary, mischief arrest: Zackery Alan Blonski, 24, of Coraopolis, was arrested Thursday afternoon by McDonald police on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, possession of cocaine and paraphernalia, harassment and criminal mischief. He is accused of forcing his way into an apartment at 125 S. McDonald St. Police said he was found sleeping on the couch and left after being confronted by the residents when they returned home. He was taken into custody a short time later by police. He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.
Theft alleged: Nichole M. Allshouse, 34, of 32 Mathews Road, Rostraver Township, is charged by Westmoreland County Detective Bureau with theft and fraud, court records show. Investigators accuse her of altering checks to steal $6,401 from a Monessen man between October 2016 and June. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso issued the charges in a summons Tuesday.
Voucher stolen, cashed: Keith T. Wood, 59, of McKees Rocks, was charged this week by state police at The Meadows Casino after he allegedly stole a voucher left behind at a machine and cashed it out July 22. He was charged with theft of mislaid property. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Driver charged: Rashanda Wilson, 37, of Pittsburgh, was charged this week by North Strabane police with possession of a controlled substance, marijuana and paraphernalia stemming from a Jan. 16 traffic stop on Racetrack Road at Meadows Drive. She was found with Alprazolem, police said. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Daughter charged: Stephanie A. Lenart, 29, of 317 Hunting Creek Road, North Strabane, was charged this week by North Strabane police with theft after she allegedly stole her father’s .40-caliber Glock handgun from his vehicle while it was parked at his Linnwood Road home July 27. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Referee assault: Manuel Gomez, 21, of Imperial, was charged this week by North Strabane police with assault on a sports official after he allegedly pushed a referee during a July 23 sanctioned soccer game at North Strabane Municipal Park field. The game was stopped. Gomez allegedly told police the referee was making bad calls. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Theft alleged: Shelton Lee Scott, 58, of Pittsburgh, was charged this week by state police at The Meadows Casino with theft after he allegedly stole poker chips from a gaming table June 24. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Charged in crash: Makenzie Such, 19, of 295 Brookwood Road, Venetia, was charged this week by North Strabane police with leaving the scene of a crash and failure to render aid stemming from a July 17 hit-and-run crash at Morganza and McClelland roads. She allegedly sideswiped another vehicle and kept going. Police said the other driver was able to get her license plate number. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Ring stolen, pawned: George A. Quigley, 38, of 709 Oakland Ave., Charleroi, was charged this week by North Strabane police with theft, receiving stolen property and theft from a motor vehicle after he allegedly stole a gold and diamond wedding ring from a vehicle while working a valet station at The Meadows Casino June 19. He is accused of pawning the ring at a store in Belle Vernon. The victim told police she accidentally left the ring on the seat of the vehicle. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Assault alleged: Angel Marie Cursi, 18, of 62 Main St., Daisytown, is charged by township police with simple assault over allegations she punched a 15-year-old girl about 7:20 p.m. Thursday in the Walmart parking lot, 100 Sara Way, court records show. District Judge Helen M. Kistler released Cursi on $5,000 unsecured bond.
Assault arrest: Robert J. Braun, 43, of 265 King Air Circle, South Franklin, was arrested Thursday by state police on charges of simple assault and harassment after he allegedly punched his niece in the face during a confrontation at their home. He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Theft arrest: Mark D. Hatfield, 34, whom state police described as homeless, was taken into custody Thursday on charges of theft, theft by deception and receiving stolen property and is being held in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond set by District Judge David Mark. State police said Hatfield is accused of stealing an Xbox, games and two cellphones from a woman on South Bridge Road on the night of June 28.
Driver faces charges: Glynridge Lloyd Jr., 25, of Marietta, Ohio, was charged by South Strabane police with driving under the influence of alcohol and public drunkenness after police said he was found passed out in his vehicle, which was in gear, at the order screen of the drive-through window at Taco Bell, Washington Road, about 2:20 a.m. Friday. Police had difficulty waking him. He reportedly failed field-sobriety tests, and police said one blood-alcohol test showed his blood-alcohol content was three times the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed. He reportedly refused to submit to a second blood-alcohol test.
Two injured: Ronald Likar, 81, and his wife, Regina Likar, 80, both of Woodlawn Drive, Houston, were injured Thursday afternoon when their car collided head-on with a pickup truck driven by Joshua Merigo, 27, of North Street, McDonald, on Locust Avenue near Moger Drive, South Strabane. Township police said Merigo was driving north on Locust and did not see stopped traffic. He reportedly swerved into the opposite lane, striking the southbound car driven by Ronald Likar. Merigo’s truck flipped on its side. Both Likars were taken to UPMC-Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment.
Driver charged: Tocarra Tatiana Rogers, 36, of Reynoldsville, Ohio, was charged this week by state police with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia and disorderly conduct stemming from a July 25 traffic stop on Interstate 70 eastbound near the Eighty Four exit, South Strabane. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Road rage alleged: James K. Simms, 54, of 207 Irwin St., Claysville, was charged this week by state police with simple assault, harassment and failure to stay in his lane after an alleged confrontation with another driver July 28. Police said the alleged victim was driving in the right southbound lane of Interstate 79, approaching the north junction, when Simms, who was in the left lane, move over to the right lane and forced the other driver to take evasive action to avoid a crash. The two men stopped their vehicles off Interstate 70 westbound. Both men got out of their vehicles and started arguing. Simms allegedly punched the other driver, knocking him to the ground. He then allegedly struck the other driver in the face. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Two charged: Alyssa Shemasek, 28, of 159 Ernest Ave., Monongahela, and Shawn Steven Pusateri, 33, of 1451 Route 136, Eighty Four, face charges stemming from a June 22 incident at South Strabane Community Park, Floral Hill Drive. Both are accused of tampering with evidence and possession of paraphernalia after allegedly throwing away a cap to a needle. Pusateri also is charged with possession of Suboxone and false identification to police. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Driver charged: Stefan C. Sweeney, 29, of 138 Hamilton St., Washington, was charged this week by state police after he allegedly fled during a July 7 traffic stop on Murtland Avenue near Interstate 70 in South Strabane. He also was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance and driving with a suspended license. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Interstate crash: State police said a tractor-trailer whose driver attempted to swerve into the shoulder of Interstate 70 west hit four other cars Thursday morning. James Holley, 34, reportedly didn’t have time to slow down or stop safely as he approached the backlog of a crash near the 22-mile marker at 8:21 a.m. in the left lane of the highway. Holley reportedly tried to move the 2016 International truck with a trailer into the shoulder of the road. Holley reportedly hit the driver-side mirror of a 2014 Ford Fusion driven by Michael Panek, 38, as Holley tried to change lanes while passing the Fusion, which was in the right lane. The driver side of the tractor-trailer’s front bumper then hit the rear passenger-side bumper of a 2014 Dodge Ram driven by Michael Orosz, 39, who had stopped in the left lane, before rear-ending a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by John Popovich, 60, who’d also stopped in the left lane. The tractor-trailer also rear-ended a 1999 Ford F-350 driven by John Caruso, 49, who’d stopped in the right lane. Holley’s truck then traveled 15 feet up a hillside before stopping. The other vehicles came to rest in the lanes of the interstate. State police said Popovich suffered a moderate injury, and Ian Speelman, 25, a passenger in the F-350, had a minor injury.
Wallet stolen: Mohammed Agabba of Gainesville, Fla., told Washington police his wallet was stolen Thursday while he was at Valero, Murtland Avenue. Surveillance reportedly shows a white man wearing a white T-shirt, gray shorts and sunglasses stole the wallet, which contained credit and debit cards, as well as cash.
