Door damaged: Sean McCarthy of 526 Moore Ave. told Canonsburg police Sunday that vandals damaged the glass patio door at his home.

Fugitive arrest: Justin Guyton, 47, of 307 First St., Lawrence, was taken into custody Sunday by Cecil police as a fugitive from justice. He was wanted on a warrant for a probation violation in West Virginia. He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County Jail without bond, pending extradition.

Gun stolen: Richard Colaizzi of 42 Windcrest Drive told Cecil police Friday that a Smith & Wesson Bodyguard .380-caliber handgun with laser sights was stolen from his bedroom closet. He told police that various contractors recently had been in his home.

Driver charged: Victor Gasbarrini, 56, of 72 Sycamore St., Muse, was charged last week by Cecil police with leaving the scene of an accident and failure to stay in his lane after a July 28 hit-and-run crash on Route 980 near Loutsion Drive. Police said he sideswiped a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction and did not stop. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Traci McDonald.

Car wash burglarized: Cecil police said Jay’s Car Wash, 3620 Millers Run Road, was burglarized early Monday. The burglar broke into machines and stole coins.

Assault charges: Thomas Swanson, 18, of 229 Wilson Road, Charleroi, was arrested Friday night by Charleroi Regional police on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and disorderly conduct after he allegedly kicked a juvenile probation officer in the leg during a custody exchange at the borough police station. Swanson was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond.

Assault, strangulation arrest: More information was released Monday on the arrest of Chad Scott Smith, 45, of 500 W. Wylie Ave., Canton Township, in the assault of 43-year-old Mary Marlene Johnson at her home at 45 Linnwood Drive, Hopewell. In addition to allegedly holding her down by the throat and putting a gun in her mouth, Smith also is accused of hitting Johnson in the face and biting her index finger. Smith was arraigned before District Judge David Mark on charges of strangulation, simple assault, aggravated assault and harassment. He was placed in Washington County jail on $250,000 bond.

Meters damaged: Paul Labryer Sr., 42, of 404 Lookout Ave., Charleroi, is charged by city police with theft, criminal mischief and corruption of minors, court records show. Police accuse Labryer of stealing money from parking meters May 27 in the 500 block of Schoonmaker Avenue and June 14 in the 400 block of Donner Avenue. He also is accused of breaking into the meters on Schoonmaker while accompanied by two boys. It cost the city $1,835 to repair the damage. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso issued the charges Friday in a summons.

Warrant signed: Leslie A. Prymus, 26, of Monessen, is charged by city police with stealing a refrigerator worth $250 Aug. 2 while moving out of 522 Fourth St., court records show. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso signed a warrant Monday for her arrest.

Theft alleged: Heather Barnett, 41, of 580 Thompson Ave., Donora, is charged by city police with theft over allegations she stole $377 worth of lottery tickets over four days in July while working as a cashier at BP, 1704 Grand Boulevard, court records show. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso issued the charge in a summons Monday.

Assault arrest: Travis Scott Abbott, 24, of 220 Vine St., New Eagle, was arrested Saturday by Monongahela police on charges of simple assault and harassment for allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend at his home. He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and was released from Washington County jail after posting $5,000 bond.

Charged in crash: James M. Elftmann, 41, of Denver, Colo., was arrested Saturday by North Strabane police on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of paraphernalia and careless driving after a crash in the parking lot of 340 Racetrack Road. Police said he failed field-sobriety tests and refused to submit to a blood-alcohol test. He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and released from Washington County jail after posting $10,000 bond.

Leaf blowers stolen: Police received a report at 1:12 p.m. Aug. 4 that two Stihl leaf blowers, valued at $495 each, were stolen from a trailer that was parked in the 100 block of Wellington Circle while the owner was doing work in a yard.

Threats alleged: Jody R. Bogol, 41, of 703 Woodlawn Ave., Brownsville, is charged by township police with robbery, making terroristic threats, simple assault and retail theft, court records show. Police accuse Bogol of stealing $930 worth of merchandise and placing it into a stolen backpack at Gabriel Brothers, 158 Finley Road, and then twice threatening to stab a loss-prevention officer who tried to detain him about 12:15 p.m. Thursday. District Judge James Albert signed a warrant Friday for Bogol’s arrest.

Drug arrest: Jack Daniel Jaffre, 40, of 34 Deems Park Road, West Pike Run Township, is charged by Rostraver police with drug possession with intent to deliver over allegations he had 70 stamp bags of heroin in a room at Relax Inn, 833 Finley Road, about 8:30 p.m. Friday. He was placed in Westmoreland County jail on $25,000 bond set by District Judge Helen M. Kistler.

Man charged: Patrick Randall Kyle II, 36, of 1120 Beford St., Johnstown, is charged by township police with giving an officer a false name when approached about 8:30 a.m. Thursday outside of Walmart, 200 Sara Way. Police filed the case Friday before District Judge Joseph Dalfonso.

Woman charged: Leslie Ann Shawley, 33, of 374 Narrow Road, Connellsville, is charged by township police with possession of heroin paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a child by allegedly having drug-related items in a bag near a 6-year-old’s toys during a traffic stop about 12:10 a.m. July 27 on Route 51 south near Webster Hollow Road, court records show. District Judge Charles Christner issued the charges by summons Friday.
