A fire late Sunday night destroyed one of the buildings at the former Right-Way Academy in Morgan Township, state police said.

The fire began about 11 p.m. at a dormitory on Academy Way that once was used by Right-Way until the organization closed in August 2007.

The campus was originally built as a youth development center, and later became a minimum-security prison for women, and then later for men.

It was unoccupied since Right-Way closed a decade ago.

The state police fire marshal Trooper James Garlick is investigating the cause of the fire and is asking anyone with information to contact him at the Washington barracks at 724-223-2093.
