Police Beat Aug. 10
Medication stolen: Gena Primrose of 623 Adams Ave. told Canonsburg police Monday that she came home to find a basement door ajar. She discovered several bottles of prescription medication had been stolen.
Weapons charges: James Errol Fischer Jr., 18, of 69 W. Hallam Ave., Washington, was arrested Tuesday night by a Washington County sheriff’s deputy on charges of firearms not to be carried without a license, possessing a firearm with an altered manufacture number, possession of paraphernalia and driving under suspension following a traffic stop on West Chestnut Street in North Franklin. Police said Fischer was found with an unregistered 9mm handgun and a suspected marijuana cigarette remnant. He was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and released from Washington County Jail after posting $10,000 bond.
Drug, tampering charges: Jenny Lynn Camp, 33, of Weirton, W.Va., was charged last week by Smith police with possession of heroin, Suboxone and Xanax, possession of paraphernalia and tampering with evidence stemming from a July 30 traffic stop on Vance Drive at Smith Park Drive in Langeloth. Camp was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped because the driver had a suspended license. Camp allegedly tried to chew a Xanax pill during the stop. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Gary Havelka.
Drug charges: Stephen Newman, 27, of 44 Main St., Atlasburg, was charged last week by Smith police with possession of heroin and paraphernalia after a July 31 traffic stop on Main Street in Atlasburg. Police said he had a small amount of heroin, as well as paraphernalia. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Gary Havelka.
