Canonsburg police are looking for a man seen in an area of the borough where several vehicles were entered and items reported stolen.

A white man wearing a long-sleeved, gray hooded sweatshirt was seen early Sunday in the 100 block of Colonial Way pulling on the door handles of vehicles. When a witness yelled at him, the suspect reportedly ran into a wooded area. The witness told police the suspect was carrying a shiny, silver object that might have been a gun.

Richard Chadwick of 535 Ridge Ave. told police his van and camper were entered. A fire extinguisher and change were stolen from the van. A 20-inch flat-screen television was stolen from the camper. Chadwick told police both vehicles were unlocked.

Andy Dykstra of 417 Ridge Ave. reported headphones, a cellphone charger and sunglasses were stolen from his vehicle. Also, tools were stolen from a toolbox in the bed of a pickup truck owned by Luciano Linanes of 427 Highfield Ave.

Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to call police at 724-745-8020.
