Police Beat Aug. 15
Mailbox damaged: A resident of 36 Barrett Hill Road reported to state police that someone damaged a mailbox overnight from Friday to Saturday.
Disorderly house charge: Jennifer Larue, 45, and Todd Yeasley, 38, both of 1018 Pike Run Drive, were charged by California police with violating the borough’s disorderly house ordinance on Aug. 8.
Woman charged: Carlie Marie Dudich, 25, of 448 Wisconsin St., Monongahela, is charged by township police with trespassing over allegations she went to Giant Eagle, 1300 Country Club Road, about 4:30 p.m. Thursday after having been banned from the store, court records show. District Judge Larry Hopkins issued the charge Friday by summons.
Woman jailed: Amber Marie Simpkins, 29, of 5 Mankey Lane, West Alexander, is charged by township police with simple assault and harassment over allegations she punched Clint Walton in the face about 9:20 p.m. Aug. 8 in the township. District Judge Larry Hopkins placed her Monday in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.
Man wanted: James Russell Kline, 27, of 605 Center Ave., Bellevue, is charged by state police with theft over accusations he stole jewelry valued at $5,630 from a residence on Marie Drive between July 8 and 16 and then sold some of it to a pawn shop, court records show. District Judge Larry Hopkins signed a warrant Monday for Kline’s arrest.
Drug arrest: Andrea Ellen Jarrell, 26, of Farmington, W.Va., was arrested Saturday by Hanover police on charges of possession of narcotics and paraphernalia and disorderly conduct after she allegedly was found with the items while entering KeyBank Pavilion. She was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and released.
Bicyclist hit: Kenneth Edward Hayes, 32, of 224 Center Ave., McDonald, was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday on Laurel Hill Road, McDonald police said. The car, believed to be a white Hyundai Sonata, continued north on Laurel Hill before traveling onto East Lincoln Avenue. Hayes was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-926-2105.
Bus stop damaged: The waiting area at a bus stop on East Lincoln Avenue at Arabella Street was damaged by vandals Thursday, McDonald police said.
Weapons charge: Angelo J. Tatano, 23, of 237 Walnut St., Houston, was arrested Saturday night by Mt. Pleasant police on charges of carrying a firearm without a license and failure to drive at a safe speed stemming from a traffic stop on Henderson Road at Eberle Road. He was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and released.
Pair jailed: Morgan Ray Gabbert, 29, of 2602 26th St., Clarksburg, W.Va., is charged by state police with receiving stolen property, fleeing or attempting to elude police, unauthorized used of a vehicle, driving under the influence of alcohol, accidents involving damage, driving without a license, duty to give information and failure to notify police about an accident, court records show. Police accused Gabbert of leading a trooper on a high-speed chase around the borough, beginning about 3:45 p.m. Friday, nearly striking pedestrians and colliding with a motorcycle while driving a vehicle that had been stolen in Westover, W.Va. A passenger, Misty Nicole Allman, 25, who police said is homeless, also faces a charge of receiving stolen property. Gabbert was placed in Westmoreland County jail on $27,000 bond set by District Judge James Albert. The judge jailed Allman on $10,000 bond.
Two injured: Roger McElhaney Jr., 80, of Fifth Street, McDonald, and his passenger, Mary Shannon, 79, of McMillan Street, Bridgeville, were injured in a two-vehicle crash about 6:35 p.m. Friday, North Strabane police said. McElhaney was traveling on Route 19 when a vehicle driven by James W. Jankowski III, 25, of Garden Street, Canonsburg, pulled from Linden Road into his path, police said. McElhaney and Shannon were taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment.
Eggs thrown: North Strabane police said eggs were thrown at several vehicles parked on DeMar Boulevard and in Glencannon late Thursday or early Friday.
Windshield broken: North Strabane police said the windshield of a vehicle parked at 1471 Route 136 was shot with a BB gun over the weekend.
Tools stolen: Several tools were reported stolen Saturday from a construction site on Burkett Lane, North Strabane police said.
Assault alleged: Sandy Nguyen, 20, of 119 Port Royal Drive, Rostraver Township, is charged by township police with simple assault over allegations she scratched Justin Boyer on the face about 1:30 a.m. Saturday outside a motel at 827 Finley Road, court records show. Nguyen is free on $5,000 unsecured bond set by District Judge L. Anthony Bompiani.
Assault arrest: Kelli Lynn Mahan, 39, of 330 Cracraft Road, South Franklin, was arrested Friday by state police on charges of simple assault and harassment she allegedly punched her husband in the face during an argument over a hamburger. She was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and released.
Indecent assault arrest: Cody R. Rehonic, 28, of 435 W. Hallam Ave., Washington, was arrested Sunday by Washington police on charges of aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault after he allegedly had inappropriate contact with a 14-year-old girl at his home. He was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and released Monday from Washington County jail after posting $10,000 bond.
Purse stolen: Eva Chupinski of North Franklin told Washington police Sunday that her purse was stolen while she slept in the front seat of her husband’s vehicle while he ran errands at 175 W. Beau St.
Jailed on probation violation: Paul Phillips, 31, of 505 N. Main St., Washington, was taken into custody Saturday after he allegedly tried to break into an apartment at 719 N. Main St., Washington police said. He was placed in Washington County Jail on a probation violation. Police said they will charge him with attempted burglary.
Woman missing: Jodi Batch, 40, of 1290 Donnan Ave., was reported missing Friday to Washington police by her mother. She is black, 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs 200 pounds.
Tires slashed: Becky Deems of 150 Rosewood Ave. told Washington police tires were slashed on her vehicle. Charges are pending, police said.
Warrant arrest: Elijah Hildebrand, 32, of 128 Statement Ave., South Strabane Township, was taken into custody Saturday by McDonald police on a bench warrant at a home on East Main Street, West Middletown. He was placed in Washington County jail.
