ROSCOE – A 75-year-old Roscoe man is in custody in an indecent assault case involving a 16-year-old girl in his neighborhood.

District Judge Larry Hopkins sent David Rice of 24 Horseshoe Drive to Washington County jail Tuesday, stemming from a complaint filed last month he entered the alleged victim’s house, grabbed her and tried to kiss her while inappropriately touching her April 8, Roscoe, Elco, Stockdale and Allenport Regional police stated in court documents.

The girl pushed him away and told him to leave when a friend walked into the room, and Rice became angry, the affidavit indicates.

Rice also faces allegations he stared at the girl through her living room window.

He is charged with indecent assault by forcible compulsion, trespassing and harassment. Hopkins set Rice’s bond at $100,000.
