Tree service worker struck by vehicle

A tree service worker was seriously injured Monday afternoon after he was struck by a vehicle on Noblestown Road, McDonald.

McDonald police said William Quinn of BeaverJack Tree Service was directing a company truck that was backing up at 8018 Noblestown Rd. at 3:27 p.m. when a driver, Roseanne Holder, 89, of McDonald, struck him.

Holder told police she did not see Quinn.

Quinn was flown by emergency helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital, where he was treated for broken bones and facial injuries, including broken teeth, police said.

Police are investigating the accident.

Assisting were McDonald Fire Department and Fort Cherry Ambulance.
