Washington County Conservation District seeks directors

Washington County Conservation District is looking for people interested in serving as a director or associate director.

The cistrict said in a news release that anyone interested in either of the positions will need to be nominated by an approved nominating organization within the county and submit the nomination by Dec. 15.

Those filling the positions would be responsible for dealing with natural resource issues such as water quality, forestry, agricultural practices and soil erosion, the news release said.

The district, staffed by nine people, is governed by a seven-member board, which meets monthly.
