City council approves pension payments
Washington City Council Thursday approved the 2018 Minimum Municipal Obligation for the police pension plan, at a cost of $1,150,715.
The motion also set the firemen’s pension plan contribution at $635,643 and the officers and employees retirement system figure at $113,937.
Also, council approved a $348,006 payment to PNC Bank for the city’s final 2017 MMO contribution for the pension fund.
Council announced it will hold a special meeting at 1 p.m. Dec. 21 to vote on the 2018 budget, tax and salary ordinances.
Its reorganization meeting will be held at noon Tuesday, Jan. 2, in council chambers.
In other business, council approved its 2018 agenda and regular council meetings. Agenda meetings will be held at 6 p.m. on Jan. 8, Feb. 26, April 2, June 4, July 9, Sept. 10, Oct. 1 and Dec. 5, and at 1 p.m. on Jan. 29, April 30, Aug. 6 and Nov. 5.
Council meetings will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 11, March 1, April 5, June 7, July 12, Oct. 4 and Dec. 6, and at 1 p.m. on Feb. 1, May 3, Aug. 9 and Nov. 8.
In another matter, council approved the addition of a handicap parking space at 61 Dewey Ave.
