Lenora L. Maiolo, 45, was pronounced dead at 4:10 p.m. by Westmoreland County Deputy Coroner Jonathon W. Jenkins at the scene of the accident on the northbound side of Route 51 near Vernon Drive, according to a news release from Westmoreland County Coroner Kenneth A. Bacha.

The GMC Envoy Maiolo was driving traveled off the left side of the roadway at 3:14 p.m. before striking the rear of another vehicle and overturning, the release said.

Speed was believed to have played a factor in the accident and Maiolo was not wearing a seat belt, the release said.

The northbound lanes were shut down for several hours and traffic was reportedly backed up after 6 p.m.
