CUMBERLAND

Simple assault charge: John Fredrick Jordan Jr., 38, of 294 Sheridan Lane, Nemacolin, was charged Saturday with simple assault and harassment after Cumberland Township police said they responded to his residence Friday for an argument. Jordan’s girlfriend, Karrie Ball, told police Jordan grabbed and shoved her, causing her to hit her head on the corner of her bed, according to court documents. He is being held in Greene County jail on $2,500 bond.

FRANKLIN

Theft charge: Stephen Anthony Pierce, 31, of 31 Third St., Marianna, was charged with theft Friday after state police said he took a change jar from a farmhouse at 100 Higgins Lane in Franklin Township where he was working Sept. 4 and redeemed the change at a grocery store for $403.61.

JEFFERSON

Drug charges: David Wayne Brown III, 23, of 1214 Second St., Brownsville, was charged Wednesday with four felony counts of possession of drugs with intent to deliver, two felony counts of criminal use of a communication facility and two misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance. Detectives with the Greene County Drug Task Force said they made two purchases of crack cocaine off Brown with the help of a confidential informant Oct. 11 and 17 in Jefferson Township.
