CARROLL
Assault charges: Jason Robert Yauch, 32, of 773 Dry Run Road, was charged by Carroll Township police with simple assault and terroristic threats after he allegedly assaulted his mother on Christmas. Police said Yauch’s mother, Lori Greenaway, told police that Yauch stated breaking glass items in the house, including a window, table and plates, about 11:59 p.m. Monday and into Tuesday morning. Police said Yauch then allegedly grabbed Greenaway by the hair and assaulted her. Police said Yauch allegedly threatened to come back to the residence and kill Greenaway.
CECIL
False identification charge: Bryan Roland Day, 34, of New Martinsville, W.Va., was charged by Cecil Township police with giving false identification to law enforcement and one summary traffic violation following a traffic stop Dec. 21 on the Interstate 79 south ramp at Southpointe Boulevard. Police said Day had given them the wrong name and birthday during the 1:30 a.m. traffic stop, and police discovered the correct information through Facebook.
CHARLEROI
Charleroi business cited: Four Points Barbecue and Brewing Inc., 308 Fourth St., Charleroi, was cited Dec. 20 by the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for furnishing alcoholic beverages to a minor. The enforcement officer said that on Sept. 26, the business provided alcohol to a 20-year-old. The charge will be brought before an administrative law judge.
DONORA
Crash: An SUV crashed into Donora Public Library, 510 Meldon Ave., about 6:45 p.m. Wednesday. Library Director Mark Boyer said the staff in the building were getting ready to close when they heard a noise, looked out the window and saw the vehicle just outside. Boyer said the building suffered only some scratches, and a shrub was taken out. He said he did not know what caused the crash. Donora police were not immediately available to provide additional information.
Criminal mischief charge: Tyrique Jackson-Crosby, 21, of 138 Camp Ave., Braddock, was charged by Donora police with criminal mischief, harassment and disorderly conduct following a Sept. 14 incident. Police said Jackson-Crosby allegedly went to the home of Kisiah Thomas, Highland Terrace in Donora, at 12:18 a.m. that morning and was “enraged” about losing his job. Police said Jackson-Crosby allegedly struck Thomas in the face, and when she tried to run outside, he dragged her back in by her hair. Police said he also allegedly broke her phone and a television.
WEST BETHLEHEM
Assault charges: Robert Mitchell Murphy, 43, of 3 Hedge Ave., Marianna, was charged by state police with simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after he allegedly struck his wife several times early Thursday morning. Police said Murphy’s wife told them that he struck her several times before throwing her to the ground. The woman told police that Murphy was angry with her because “his girlfriend broke up with him,” the criminal complaint said. When police spoke with Murphy that night, they said he appeared to be intoxicated. Murphy was arraigned Thursday morning by District Judge Robert Redlinger and jailed on $5,000 bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Jan. 10.
