City firefighters extricated a Washington man from his car after it was involved in a collision with another vehicle, resulting in two injuries Saturday afternoon in Washington.

One of the driver’s vehicles traveled through a red light, striking the other car broadside about 3:20 p.m. at Jefferson and Hall avenues, Washington police said.

Police said both drivers, a man and a woman, complained of pain and were taken to Washington Hospital. The injuries did not appear to be serious, police said.

The names of the drivers were not released Saturday.
