A project to upgrade the intersection of Routes 88 and 837 in Carroll Township will begin soon, the state Department of Transportation announced. The project includes the installation of left turn lanes, a new traffic signal, a cul-de-sac at Watson Drive and other miscellaneous road work. As the project starts, motorists will see work being done along the sides of the road starting Feb. 27.

Beginning approximately April 1, barriers will be used for a 10-foot lane restriction on Route 88 as well as an 11-foot restriction on Route 837 (Donora Road) between Watson Drive and Rogers Street in Carroll Township, Washington County. The anticipated completion date of this project is Nov. 3.

The contractor on this $3.2 million project is Frank Gavlik & Sons Inc.
