Three McDonald men face charges
Three McDonald men face drug charges after borough police went to their homes last week in order to serve an arrest warrant on one of them.
Borough and Cecil Township police went to the home of Dylan Hamilton, 18, of 115 Grant St., Feb. 9 to serve him with an arrest warrant on drug charges and to carry out a search warrant at the home. He was charged with possession and possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and criminal use of a communications facility. He is accused of selling marijuana to confidential informants in the borough on the previous day.
When they went to the home, Dylan Hamilton was not there, but police found his brother, Shayne Hunter Hamilton, 20, also of 115 Grant. During a search of the home, police said they found two glass smoking pipes in his bedroom, two glass smoking pipes in the living room and a glass bong in the kitchen. He told police that the paraphernalia in the living room and kitchen belonged to him and his brother.
Police learned that Dylan Hamilton was at the home of a friend, Jayson Michael Darnley, 25, of 128 Terrace St., McDonald. Police took Dylan Hamilton into custody, and officers said they could smell marijuana coming from the home. Police reportedly were given consent to search the basement by Darnley. Police said they found suspected marijuana wax and marijuana, along with several items of drug paraphernalia.
Dylan Hamilton was arraigned on the warrant before District Judge Traci McDonald and was released the following day from Washington County Jail on a $2,500 percentage bond.
The three will be charged by summons sent from McDonald’s office in connection with the Feb. 9 searches. Darnley will be charged with possession of marijuana wax and marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. Dylan Hamilton will be charged with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. Shayne Hamilton will be charged with possession of paraphernalia.
