Waynesburg woman faces 42 drug charges
A Waynesburg woman is facing 42 drug charges after Greene County sheriff’s deputies arrested her Tuesday, alleging she was in possession of 45 stamp bags of heroin.
Deputies said they initiated a traffic stop about 5:30 p.m. on Piper Ridge Road in Morgan Township, pulling over Tammy L. Yakubec, 42, of 413 Meadowbrook Road. She was wanted on a county bench warrant on charges of possession of a controlled substance, according to the criminal complaint.
During the stop, officers said they found the bags of heroin, labeled “Avatar,” in her purse along with 14 syringes, two crack pipes and other pieces of suspected drug paraphernalia, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
Yakubec was charged with 35 counts of possession of a controlled substance, seven counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of driving while suspended.
Sheriff Brian Tennant said he recently reassigned two deputies to focus on warrant service. Since Feb. 1, the two deputies have arrested 16 people on warrants.
“I am incredibly proud and thankful for the job they are doing,” he said.
