HARRISBURG (AP) – A suspended state trooper faces possible jail time after being convicted of simple assault for kicking a handcuffed man in the face.

Pennlive.com said jurors deliberated less than an hour before convicting 37-year-old Trooper Ryan Luckenbaugh of Mechanicsburg for the 2015 incident.

Prosecutors say they’ll probably request jail time when Luckenbaugh is sentenced in April.

The victim was arrested after he made an obscene gesture as he rode a skateboard against traffic in Harrisburg. Luckenbaugh kicked the 27-year-old victim as he sat handcuffed on a curb. That was after he was pepper sprayed and shocked with a stun gun.

The dash camera on Luckenbaugh’s cruiser captured the ordeal.

Footage shows the victim calling officers Nazis and pigs.

Luckenbaugh’s lawyer argued the kick was a reaction to getting spit on.
