MONONGAHELA – A New Eagle man is wanted on charges he broke into a Monongahela residence last week carrying a knife and raped a woman in her living room.

District Judge Mark Wilson signed the warrant Feb. 16 for the arrest of Jason Orin Stevens, 43, of 184 Morton St., in connection with the alleged rape about 2:30 a.m. Feb. 14 at a residence on Corrin Avenue, court records show.

The victim told police she was in bed with a child when Stevens walked in and ordered her into her living room. She said he took her cellphone to prevent her from calling police and didn’t leave her residence until about 5:30 p.m., police stated in the affidavit supporting the criminal charges in the case.

The woman also said Stevens threatened to kill her and the child. Police said investigators found evidence indicating the residence was entered through a kitchen window.

Stevens is charged with rape, burglary, making terroristic threats, unlawful restraint, reckless endangerment, false imprisonment and simple assault, court records show.
