S. Strabane police file theft charges
South Strabane Township police filed theft-related charges this week against several people accused of stealing from township businesses.
Nicholas A. Hall, 32, of Pittsburgh, is charged with retail theft and possession of paraphernalia after he allegedly stole electronic items valued at $580 from Kohl’s, Strabane Square, on Jan. 28. He had a needle when he was taken into custody, police said.
Kevin M. Daft, 32, of Morgantown, W.Va., and Calvin Sharpe, 46, of Darby, Delaware County, are charged with theft by deception after allegedly returning stolen items to Walmart, Trinity Point, on different days earlier this month. Ronald Horn, 37, of Martinsville, Ind., also was charged with theft by deception for allegedly returning stolen items for a gift card Dec. 29.
Jason Carpenter, 24, of 25 Midland Drive, Washington, is charged with retail theft, theft by deception and attempted theft by deception for allegedly stealing four rifle accessories at Walmart and trying to return them for a gift card. The transaction was turned down by an employee at the service desk, police said.
The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
