Greene County court cases

A number of criminal defendants pleaded guilty and were sentenced last week by Greene County Judge Louis Dayich.

Brandy Henderson, 22, of 54 First Ave., Crucible; pleaded no contest to three counts of child endangerment and one count of drug paraphernalia; Oct. 19, she and her boyfriend, Seth Hillier, 27, of the same address, were found smoking marijuana, limiting their ability to care for three young children for whom they were responsible, according to police reports; Children and Youth Services took custody of the children, ages 5, 3 and 1 month; sentence – three years of probation, 100 hours of community service, and she must complete parenting classes through CYS.

Cody Dale Jenkins, 24, of 1226 Miller Road, Albright, W. Va.; offenses – two counts of access device fraud and theft; Aug. 22, he use a woman’s bank card without permission and spent $911 at Tommy Boys Tavern in Waynesburg, McDonald’s, Sheetz, 7-Eleven and Walmart; sentence – two years of probation and 60 hours of community service; restitution has been paid.

Molly Pearl Varner, 24, of 2108 Jefferson Ave., Washington; pleaded guilty in two different cases to retail theft, DUI, disorderly conduct and two summary offenses; Oct. 5, 2015, Varner stole $143 worth of merchandise from Walmart; July 16, 2016, Varner was driving while under the influence of Suboxone on Jennings Avenue in Franklin Township, when her vehicle became stuck on an embankment near a playground area; Varner was taken to WHS-Greene hospital, but police were called back to the medical facility because Varner was disturbing other patients in the emergency room, destroying items and attempting to run away, according to police reports; sentence – 72 hours to 6 months in jail with credit for time served, $450 in fines and 100 hours of community service.

Leslie Louise Sargent, 53, of 52 W. Greene St., Waynesburg; offenses – DUI and 10 summary violations; arrested April 18, 2008, after her vehicle struck another vehicle in the parking lot of a Mt. Morris bar; Sargent was in an accelerated rehabilitative disposition program but violated its terms and was removed from the program; sentence – six months of probation with credit for three days served in jail, $300 in fines, 30 hours of community service.

Calvin Larue Puderbaugh, 25, of 36 Main St., Bloomsburg; offenses – DUI and summary violations; Oct. 1, he was pulled over for driving without headlights and had a blood-alcohol content of 0.22 percent ; sentence – 3 days to 6 months in jail and $300 in fines, with the sentence to be served concurrently with an unrelated sentence he is serving in a state prison.

Terry A. Hevner, 54, of 126 Wayne Village, Waynesburg; offenses – DUI and summary violations; April 18, he crashed his vehicle into a tree at 782 Pisgah Ridge Road; sentence – three days to six months on house arrest and $525 in fines.

Justin Lee Gillogly, 21, of 860 Bonar Ave., Waynesburg; offenses – DUI and trespass; March 28, 2015, police found Gillogly in a vehicle with friends at Route 21 Mobile Home Park in Carmichaels, where he admitted to driving under the influence of drugs; sentence – 3 days to 6 months in jail with credit for 14 days served, $300 in fines and 60 hours of community service; he was ordered to undergo inpatient rehabilitation at Cove Forge Rehab Facility.
