Vehicle overturns: Lee Colsmann, 28, of Morgantown, W.Va., received minor injuries when his vehicle ran off Interstate 79 north at 2:18 p.m. Wednesday, hit a guardrail and rolled onto its side, state police said. The report did not indicate if he sought medical treatment. Lone Pine and Amwell firefighters assisted.
Theft alleged: Shaun McGavitt, 37, of 430 1/2 Liberty Ave., Donora, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with theft and receiving stolen property over allegations he stole $200 from a purse in a residence on Oakland Avenue about 12:50 a.m. Thursday, court records show. District Judge Larry Hopkins issued the charges that day in a summons.
Building entered: Robert Terek of Washington told Chartiers police that a house at 240 Parker St. was burglarized Tuesday and $1,000 in building material was stolen. He also reported an attempt to enter the building again Wednesday.
House hit: Tyler Filby, 125 Barnickle St., told Chartiers police his house was hit Sunday with 15 yellow paint balls.
Woman charged: Holly Ann Barnett, 46, of 490 Eighth St., Donora, is charged by the state Office of Inspector General with welfare fraud over accusations she collected $33,531 in benefits while failing to report her income at Mon Valley Hospital between July 2013 and July 2016, court records show. Barnett is free on $10,000 bond set Wednesday by District Judge Mark Wilson.
Warrant issued: Pete Leonard Molek, 42, of 1058 Fourth St. Extension, Charleroi, is charged by state police with open lewdness, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness over allegations he exposed himself at Jem Lounge, 164 Coyle Curtain Road, about 7 p.m. Tuesday, court records show. District Judge Larry Hopkins signed a warrant for Molek’s arrest Wednesday.
Animal cruelty alleged: Floyd Edward Phillips, 70, of 2080 Brush Run Road, Avella, was charged by state police last week with cruelty to animals after he allegedly shot his neighbor’s dog in the left shoulder on May 8 when the animal was in his yard. Phillips told police that he retrieved his shotgun, went outside and the dog growled at him. He also said he told his neighbor to keep the dog off his property. The dog required surgery for the injury, police said. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
False ID: Kurtis W. Lowe, 27, of 760 Crest Drive, Monessen, was charged with providing false identification to authorities after Monessen police said they were called Tuesday to a possible overdose at his home. Lowe met them outside the home, saying he felt weird after using heroin, and gave them a false name, police said. When police determined his true identity, they determined he was wanted on bench and probation violation warrants.
Charged in assault: Christopher Martin Cox, 37, of 850 Beech St., Washington, was charged by state police last week with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct stemming from a Nov. 28 confrontation at 274 King Air Circle, South Franklin. The alleged victim told police that he found Cox walking around his former home and believed he was trying to break in. The two got into an argument and Cox allegedly punched him in the mouth. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
Garage burglary: Ralph Moore reported the door of his garage at 2140 S Bridge Road was kicked in between 11 a.m. Monday and 12:45 p.m. Tuesday. The thief stole a blue, 2007 all-terrain vehicle, a torpedo heater and 30 lug nuts, state police said.
Theft case: Edward C. Diulus, 50, of 1501 Asbury Place, Pittsburgh, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with theft over accusations he used a Patriot One Inc. credit card to purchase $1,048 worth of gasoline for personal use while he was employed by the company at 35 Carson St. between Oct. 24 and Nov. 8, court records show. District Judge Larry Hopkins issued the charge in a summons Thursday.
Harassment charge: Tom Wormsley, 51, of 219 1/2 Ridge Ave., will be charged with harassment by summons after he allegedly slapped Joyce Cole, 49, during a confrontation at their home early Thursday, Washington police said.
Home burglarized: Joann Woczniak, 1285 Summerlea Ave., told Washington police a burglar entered her home through an unlocked, first-floor window and stole her wallet containing $50 and a bank card. The bank card was used to make two purchases for $81 and $76 at GetGo, East Wylie Avenue.
