Columbia Gas customers in Cecil Township, Washington and Canton Township will see infrastructure replacement projects totaling nearly $1 million, starting early January and lasting through mid-spring.

In Cecil Township, about 3,870 feet of underground pipe will be replaced on Millers Run Road and Slatemore Drive. The project is estimated to cost $447,000.

In Washington and Canton Township, about 4,830 feet on pipe on Galaxy Drive, Henderson Avenue, Holly Drive, Moon Road, Regent Drive, Vista Road and Windsor Street will be replaced at a cost of about $459,000.

Construction will occur between 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Saturday work is possible. There may be temporary lane closures and detours during working hours only.

As part of the projects, customers along the project scope may experience a temporary service interruption. Columbia Gas will personally contact these customers to schedule service restoration. Customers with indoor meters will have their meters relocated to the outside of the premises and their service lines replaced as well. This work will be done at no additional cost to the customer.
