Police beat Jan. 11
Liquor law violation: The Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement cited Sam’s Place, 1375 Henderson Ave., for allegedly selling alcohol between 2 and 7 a.m., and allowing patrons to possess or remove alcohol from the premises after 2:30 a.m. July 23. Charges will be brought before an Administrative Law Judge who can impose penalties, suspend or revoke a liquor license.
Drug charge: Michael David Chaney, 54, of 417 Prospect Ave., Donora, is charged by borough police with possessing various sized rocks of crack and possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from a traffic stop about 10:30 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of Seventh Street, court records show. District Judge Mark Wilson issued the charges in a summons Monday.
Items stolen: State police are investigating the theft of a flat screen TV and black DVD player from a residence at 60 Fairmont Church Road, from noon Jan. 7 to noon Jan. 8.
Assault alleged: Angela Nystrom, 21, of 302 Fleet St., Braddock, is charged by city police with simple assault and disorderly conduct over allegations she struck the secretary at Lenzi Service Station, 149 E. Main St., Erica Lenzi, in the face and kicked her after she fell the ground about 2:05 p.m. Monday, court records show. Nystrom is free on $1,000 bond set by District Judge Mark Wilson.
Theft arrest: James Lee Gwynn Jr., 58, whose last known address was on Wilkenson Street in Belle Vernon, was arraigned Monday before District Judge Gary Havelka on a charge of theft. State police at The Meadows Casino charged him with stealing $200 from a woman who accidentally dropped a checkbook cover containing the cash. Gwynn allegedly picked it up and left the casino. Gwynn was released on his own recognizance.
Business burglarized: North Strabane police were called Monday morning to Woodruff Memorial Park, 2095 Washington Road, for a report of a burglary at the administration building. Items were moved around, and a fire extinguisher was discharged in all the rooms except a bathroom.
Fraud alleged: Christopher Michael Jacobs, 43, of 248 Cope Road, Perryopolis, is charged by township police with home improvement fraud over allegations he accepted $700 to perform work on a residence on Rostraver Road Nov. 19 and failed to appear at the work site, police said. District Judge Charles Christner issued the charge in a summons Tuesday.
Tools stolen: Matthew Garger of Gibsonia told South Strabane police Tuesday he discovered tools were stolen from cabinets inside his U-Haul truck after he picked it up from Washington Ford, Washington Road. He told police he took the vehicle to the dealership Dec. 16 and picked it up Jan. 6.
Four to be charged: James E. Grayson, 38, of 220 Ridge Ave., Washington; Oscar E. White, 38, of 221 Ridge; Jody Grayson, 39, of 580 Jefferson Ave., Washington, and Jeannine Grayson, 41, of Pittsburgh, will be charged by Washington police with disorderly conduct and harassment in connection with a fight Monday in a lot at 501 Jefferson Ave. The two men are accused of pushing a 25-year-old Washington man to the ground, while the two women are accused of hitting a 31-year-old woman, giving her a bloody lip, police said.
