Police beat Jan. 12
Husband charged: Randy Kisner, 46, of 304 Crest Ave., Charleroi, was arrested Tuesday by Charleroi Regional police on charges of simple assault and harassment. He is accused of kneeing his wife in the face after the two reportedly got into a fight over her purse. He was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka and placed in Washington County Jail on $5,000 bond.
Assault alleged: Jamie Roderick Jones, 37, of 204 Oakland Ave. Charleroi, was charged by Charleroi Regional police with simple assault and harassment after he allegedly choked his girlfriend at his home Tuesday night. He fled when he realized her son dialed 911, police said. Jones will be charged by summons from the office of District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Mother, son charged: Vyiona I. Ervin, 47, of Carnegie, and Raymond T. Pratt, 30, of 550 Steubenville Pike, Hanover, were charged last week by Hanover Township police with simple assault and harassment. He is accused of pulling his mother’s hair and pushing her down during a Dec. 12 confrontation at his home. She is accused of shoving him and threatening to stab him with a knife. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Gary Havelka.
Welfare fraud alleged: James Chappell, 53, of 1036 Steubenville Pike, Hanover, was charged last week in a private criminal complaint filed by an agent with the state Department of Human Services with welfare fraud. He is accused of collecting $1,522 in food assistance and $6,500 in medical assistance while working for two masonry contractors. He reportedly failed to report the income on applications filed with the Washington County Assistance Office in May and June 2015 and May 2016. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Gary Havelka.
Victim intimidation charge: John P. Gilmore, 42, of 15 First St., Houston, was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge Gary Havelka on charges of intimidation of a victim and harassment. Peters police said he sent three messages to a victim, trying to get her to stop charges against him in another case. The messages allegedly were sent Oct. 9 and violated conditions of his bond. He was placed in Washington County Jail on $10,000 bond.
Loitering, paraphernalia charges: Levi Seman, 25, of 13 Spruce Way, Stockdale, will be charged with loitering and prowling at night and possession of drug paraphernalia by Charleroi Regional police after officers were dispatched about 11 p.m. Tuesday to the Buy & Fly in Upper Speers for an alarm activation. Officers said they found Seman behind the building and found a spoon and syringe lying on the ground. Upon taking Seman into custody, police said three empty heroin stamp bags were found on him. Seman admitted that he went behind the building to inject the heroin, police said. Seman will be charged by summons from the office of District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Harassment charge: Mark Jones of Washington reported to police that Hank McCartney, 39, of 2717 Jefferson Ave., has been following and attempting to fight him for several weeks. Washington police cited McCartney for harassment.
Housing dispute: Rosetta Collins and Elizabeth J. Hughes, both of 305 Lincoln Terrace, were cited for harassment after an incident Tuesday in which Collins claimed Hughes placed all of her belongings outside. Collins and Hughes both said they were pushed by the other.
