WAYNESBURG – Route 19/21 in Morrisville, Franklin Township, will be closed to traffic Thursday night as crews continue to erect beams for the new railroad overpass.

The road will be closed at the overpass from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., the state Department of Transportation said in a release. The designated detour will use Interstate 79 and Route 19 between Ruff Creek and Waynesburg. Route 21 will be closed to westbound truck traffic at the I-79 and closed to eastbound truck traffic at Route 19 north.

PennDOT is replacing the railroad overpass and the adjacent two-lane bridge carrying traffic over Ten Mile Creek with four-lane structures.

The project, which began at the end of 2013, is scheduled to be completed in the fall.
