Criminal mischief: A door frame was damaged when someone tried to gain entry into Barton’s Auto Wrecking Jan. 3, police said. They were not successful getting into the garage.

Theft: A handgun and other valuables were stolen from a vehicle belonging to Charles Connor, 46, of Lantz Street, police said. The incident occurred Jan. 3. Anyone with information should call state police in Waynesburg at 724-627-6151.

Unauthorized use arrest: Elijah David, 18, of Jefferson, was arrested Jan. 8 for using a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt without the permission of its owner, Kevin Clelland, 60, of Jefferson, police said.

Burglary: Someone took $1,500 in cash and an unknown amount of cigarettes from the Log Cabin store Dec. 26, police said. Anyone with information should call state police in Waynesburg at 724-627-6151.

Harassment cited: Robert Kennedy, 49, of Prosperity, has been cited for harassment after an altercation with Michael Herman, 54, also of Prosperity, police said. The incident occurred Jan. 11 on property near 1417 Washington Road.
