CHARLEROI – Nearly $8,000 in money seized in drug cases has been returned to the Charleroi Regional Police Department.

Washington County District Attorney Gene Vittone presented the department with $7,934 Wednesday under the terms of a court order.

“It is only fair that this money be utilized for law enforcement activities to clean up our neighborhoods,” Vittone said.

Similar money has been used in the past to purchase a security system at the LeMoyne Multicultural Center in East Washington and Narcan for first responders throughout the county.
