A Bentleyville couple was charged by borough police after a domestic dispute at their home Thursday.

Police were called to the 902 Old West Road home of Kayla Elaine Clark, 22, and Dustin Matthew Hamilton, after the two allegedly got into an altercation during an argument.

When police arrived, they found the house in disarray. Clark reportedly threw items near a small child who was sitting near her on the floor. Police said she tossed the items about while holding an infant in one arm. Police said a flat-screen television and television stand were broken. There also was glass on the floor.

Hamilton told police he was trying to get his son away from Clark for safety reasons, adding that the boy almost fell.

Clark told police Hamilton choked her and had her up against a wall during the argument. He then reportedly grabbed her arms and twisted them until he got the child. She told police Hamilton also told her “I’ll kill you now.”

Hamilton was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment. He was released on $10,000 unsecured bond with orders not to return to the residence or have contact with Clark. He is scheduled for a Feb. 7 hearing before Thompson.

Clark is charged by summons with two counts of endangering the welfare of children and one count of disorderly conduct. She is scheduled for a March 14 hearing before Thompson.
