A McDonald man was killed Sunday in a single-vehicle crash in Johnston Township, Ohio.

Joseph Colicchie, 60, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was a passenger in a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Ronald Tarquino, 60, also of McDonald.

According to Ohio State Highway Patrol, Tarquino suffered severe injuries and was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Health Center in Youngstown, Ohio. An employee said Monday that Tarquino had been discharged from the hospital.

The crash occurred on Route 11, north of Route 88, just before 2 p.m. The truck was traveling south when it drove off the road, striking several trees.

Route 11 southbound lanes were briefly shut down while a medical helicopter landed on the highway. The crash remains under investigation by State Highway Patrol.
