Winning lottery ticket sold in Burgettstown
A winning lottery ticket that was sold in Burgettstown has not yet been claimed.
The Pennsylvania Lottery Cash 5 ticket, worth $800,000, less taxes, was sold Monday at Petrucci’s IGA, with the winning numbers 01-06-08-11-41.
Allen Zieglar, spokesman for the Pennsylvania Lottery, said winners have one year from the date of the drawing – Monday – to claim their prize. By law, unclaimed lottery prizes remain in a fund and are used to support programs benefiting older Pennsylvanians.
The winner can claim the prize by contacting the lottery’s closest local office, in Allegheny County at 1424 Western Ave., Pittsburgh, or by calling 717-702-8146.
For selling the ticket, Petrucci’s earns a $5,000 bonus.
Employee Kathy Guiddy said Wednesday the store had not yet been notified that it had sold a winning ticket.
She said a jackpot-winning ticket worth about $300,000 was sold at the store several years ago.
In July 2015, a $1 million ticket sold at Kwik Stop, 2038 Route 18, Burgettstown, was claimed.
According to the Pennsylvania Lottery, the chance of winning the Cash 5 jackpot is 1 in 962,598. The overall chance of winning for matching two, three or four numbers is about 1 in 10.5.
