Firefighters called to Monongahela Subway

Firefighters from Monongahela and Carroll Township were called about 12:50 p.m. Tuesday to the Subway, 243 W. Main St., Monongahela, after smoke was seen coming from the roof. The store was briefly evacuated while firefighters checked a small electrical malfunction in an oven. There was no fire, and just minor smoke damage to the building, said Monongahela Assistant Fire Chief Aaron Benney. The store has reopened.
