Man, woman jailed in ‘love triangle’ death of her boyfriend
SMITHFIELD (AP) – Pennsylvania State Police have jailed a 33-year-old woman and a 58-year-old man in what they’re calling the love triangle slaying of the woman’s other boyfriend.
Troopers say Diana Hughes called 911 to report Wiley Gambrel had shot 45-year-old James Plance. Police responded to that call about 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, but say the Georges Township residence where the shooting was reported had obviously been cleaned up and the incident occurred hours earlier.
Police say Hughes told them the trio was involved in a “love triangle” and that Gambrel shot Plance in the head while they all smoked crack and drank alcohol.
Gambrel is charged with criminal homicide and, along with Hughes, tampering with evidence and other crimes for allegedly moving the body to Gambrel’s rental property.
Court records don’t list defense attorneys.
