A Robinson Township teen was arrested Friday by McDonald police on charges including unlawful contact with a minor and sexual exploitation of children after a mother contacted the Fort Cherry School District police officer to report that her 12-year-old daughter had been sent nude photographs by the 18-year-old who was a senior at the high school.

Brian Michael Walter Jr., 1735 Bigger Road, is also charged with disseminating sexual material to a minor and criminal use of a communication facility having obscene materials.

Fort Cherry police contacted McDonald police after being contacted in March. The mother gave police permission to search the girl’s cellphone. The mother told police that her daughter had been at an aunt’s house when the girl told the aunt that the 18-year-old was sending her the nude photographs through Facebook.

Police reviewed the contents of the cellphone and discovered the Facebook Messenger conversation between the girl and Walter. Police learned through those conversations that Walter reportedly knew the girl was 12.

Walter, who turned himself into police, was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and released on $45,000 unsecured bond. He faces a July 27 preliminary hearing before District Judge Traci McDonald.
