Greene County pleaders

A number of criminal defendants pleaded guilty earlier this month before Greene County Judge Louis Dayich.

Brian K. Jolly, 45, of 110 Franklin Ave., Uniontown; offenses – driving under the influence, required financial responsibility and four summary traffic violations; arrested in the early morning of Oct. 27 after he missed a turn on Route 188 in Franklin Township and traveled into a car lot damaging several vehicles; sentence – 3 days to 6 months in jail, $885 in fines, 60 hours of community service, $7,500 restitution to Ron Lewis Automotive of Waynesburg and $98,992 restitution to the insurance carrier of Ron Lewis, which is Bridgewater Group Trust based in Atlanta. The court is expected to set up a payment structure beyond Jolly’s sentence term.

Lawrence Eddy, 31, of 1555 Morris St., Waynesburg; offenses – two counts of endangering the welfare of children; he also pleaded “no contest” to receiving stolen property; On Oct. 30, 2015, Waynesburg police discovered a 2-year-old wandering around Morgan Street in cold weather. Another infant in Eddy’s care also was neglected that day at Eddy’s residence while he was asleep. On April 20, 2016, Eddy was found to be in possession of several wheels and tires that were stolen from Ron Lewis Automotive and sold to a pawn shop in Franklin Township; sentence – 15 months to 5 years in jail with work release privileges, parenting classes and 50 hours of community service.

William A. Harrington, 32, of 109 Fourth St., Waynesburg; offenses – criminal mischief and three counts each of theft and unauthorized use of a vehicle; From April 2 to 4, Harrington broke the ignition of a jeep, belonging to Daniel Coneybeer, and drove it to work each day; sentence – 6 to 23 months in jail with credit for time served since April 3, $464 in restitution to Coneybeer, and 40 hours of community service; supervision may be transferred to Ohio, where Harrington plans to become a resident.

Devin Tennant, 21, of 111 Route 21 Mobile Home Park, Carmichaels; offenses – pleaded “no contest” to theft, recklessly endangering another person, unauthorized use of a vehicle and four summary traffic violations; one charge each of theft and receiving stolen property were dismissed; Tennant stole a car, belonging to Tracy Mowl, from a party at a residence on Neff Road last August before crashing it and rolling it over several times with a juvenile boy in the passenger seat. He then fled the scene and took an iPhone and a wallet from inside the car; sentence – five years of probation, $850 in fines, $3,380 in restitution to Mowl, and 150 hours of community service.

Falis M. Isaak, 20, of 1626 Bending Willows Lane, Hillard, Ohio; offenses – three counts of acquisition by misrepresentation, two counts of criminal attempt; between Jan. 30 and 31, Isaak had a fake prescription for codeine filled at Rite Aid, Giant Eagle and McCracken pharmacies in Waynesburg; She also took the prescription to Walmart and CVS in Franklin Township, but they declined the prescription; sentence – 11 days to 1 year in jail with credit for time served; supervision will be transferred to Ohio, where Isaak resides.

Joseph Edward Miller, Jr., 19, of 969 Whites Ridge Road, Center Township; offenses – criminal mischief and resisting arrest; arrested March 7 after a domestic dispute with his father that resulted in damage to his father’s vehicle and door. Police said Miller also kicked out the window of the police cruiser while handcuffed; sentence – 18 months of probation with credit for one day served, $500 in fines, $682 restitution to Miller’s father.

Richard Glenn Dunfee III, 33, who is incarcerated at the Washington County Jail for another case; offenses – theft; On Jan. 6, Dunfee stopped at a house in the 100 block of North Avenue in Rices Landing and told a resident that he had run out of gas. While the resident made him a cup of coffee, he stole her wallet; sentence – 60 days to 1 year in jail with credit for time served, $200 in fines and $168 restitution to the victim.

Sheila Darlene McDaniel, 62, of 642 Route 21, Graysville; offenses – unsworn falsifications to authorities; On Nov. 7, McDaniel tried to buy a gun at True Value in Dry Tavern, but she is not allowed due to previous felony convictions; sentence – one year of probation, $500 in fines and 60 hours of community service.

Cody James Sampson, 19, of 514 Mountain View Drive, Waynesburg; offenses -possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia; On April 19, Waynesburg Central High School officials discovered Sampson selling marijuana to other students; sentence – two years of probation and $600 fine.

Charles Wilbert Greene III, 44, of 799 Ackley Creek Road, West Finley; offenses – DUI, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana, disorderly conduct and two summary offenses; On Nov. 14, Greene ran a red light on Route 21 in Franklin Township and was pulled over in the Sheetz parking lot. Greene’s blood alcohol content was 0.203; sentence – six months to five years in jail with work release privileges, $1,300 in fines.

Clayton J. Schaum, 28, of 130 Carmichaels St., Rices Landing; offenses – DUI and traffic summary offenses; On Jan. 29, Schaum was driving nearly 30 miles over the speed limit on High Street in Waynesburg and crossing the center line, before he was stopped by police; sentence – five days to six months in jail as a weekend sentence, $637 in fines and 30 hours of community service.

Justin Cheyenne Richter, 30, of 365 Browns Creek Road, Washington Township; false identification to law enforcement and five summary traffic violations; he also pleaded “no contest” to theft; On Sept. 14, Richter stole a lunch box and iPhone from an unlocked truck parked on Route 18 near Richter’s residence. On Dec. 21, Richter was pulled over on Route 21 in Franklin Township for a bench warrant, but he gave a fake identity to police; sentence – 74 days to 3 months in jail with credit for time served, $835 in fines, must complete outpatient drug treatment and 90 hours of community service.

Timothy Allan Hilverding, 28, of 221 Parkview Knoll, Carmichaels; offenses – three counts of theft, two counts of receiving stolen property, loitering and prowling at night; On Dec. 14, Hilverding stole two handguns from a vehicle parked in the 700 block of Hopkins Run Road in Morris Township. He also took cigarettes and loose change from other vehicles in the area; sentence – 15 months to 5 years in state prison with credit for time served since April 5; Hilverding is eligible for a recidivism risk reduction incentive program in 11 months as well as a motivational boot camp.
